Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 7 June 2026
1. About us
These terms apply to all services provided by Carlton Fuller and Sons (trading as CAF Heating), registered address 23 Pine Gardens, Horley, Surrey, RH6 7RA ("we", "us", "CAF Heating"). By accepting a quote or allowing us to begin work, you agree to these terms.
2. Quotations
All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.
A quote is an estimate based on the information available at the time. Where additional work is discovered once the job has commenced (for example, non-standard pipework, concealed faults, or access issues), we will notify you of any variation to the price before proceeding.
Verbal quotes are indicative only. We recommend confirming all prices in writing before work begins.
3. Bookings and access
Appointment times are given as an estimated arrival window. We will contact you if we are significantly delayed. We are not liable for any loss caused by a delay outside our control (traffic, a previous job overrunning, etc.).
You are responsible for ensuring safe and adequate access to the work area, including clearing the space around boilers, meters, and pipework. If access is not possible when we arrive and we cannot complete the job, a call-out charge may apply.
4. Our obligations
All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. Our Gas Safe registration number is 18842. You can verify our registration at gassaferegister.co.uk.
We will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with relevant British Standards and gas safety regulations. Materials we supply will be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Where we identify an immediate danger during a job (Immediately Dangerous or At-Risk classification under Gas Safe procedures), we will advise you in writing and take the appropriate steps required by law, which may include isolating the appliance.
5. Your obligations
You must provide accurate information about the property and any existing installations. Failure to do so may affect the validity of any warranty or certificate we provide.
You must not tamper with, modify, or allow unlicensed persons to work on any gas appliance or installation we have serviced or installed. Doing so voids any warranty and may be a criminal offence.
6. Warranties and guarantees
Our labour carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee from the date the job is completed, covering defects arising from our installation or repair work. This does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, or faults in parts we did not supply.
Parts and appliances we supply are subject to the manufacturer's warranty, which we will pass on to you. Manufacturer warranties are separate from and in addition to our workmanship guarantee.
Boilers installed by us as Vaillant Approved Installers may carry an extended manufacturer warranty - we will confirm the specific terms at the time of installation.
The workmanship guarantee is void if anyone other than a Gas Safe registered engineer carries out further work on the installation without our prior written agreement.
7. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the job unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept bank transfer and cash. Where a deposit is required (typically for boiler installations), this will be stated in the quote.
If an invoice is not paid within 14 days of the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and to recover reasonable debt recovery costs.
Landlords: where we issue a Landlord Gas Safety Certificate, payment is required before the certificate is released.
8. Cancellation and rescheduling
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or where we attend and are unable to access the property, may incur a call-out charge to cover the engineer's time and travel.
If we need to reschedule due to an emergency or circumstances outside our control, we will contact you as soon as possible to agree a new time.
9. Liability
Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (for example, loss of earnings, hotel costs, or contents damage) arising from a breakdown, delay, or defect unless caused by our negligence.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
We carry public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our work or service, please contact us first so we have the opportunity to put things right:
- Email: info@cafheating.co.uk
- Phone: 07956 876156
If you believe a gas safety issue has not been handled correctly, you may also contact the Gas Safe Register directly at gassaferegister.co.uk.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved between us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. The terms in force when you accepted a quote or allowed work to begin are the terms that apply to that job.
